Con Sketches

I'd brought my camera to this past weekend's comic con and took pictures of a few of the sketches I did.  I'm still quite horrible about remembering to do this, so several got away undocumented.

Bran Mak Morn

It was a little slow at the start of the Toronto Comicon this morning and I didn't bring any work to do while waiting for the sketches I would eventually do, so I started sketching based on a panel in the upcoming 3-part adaptation of   The Men of the Shadows starting in issue #5 of Robert E. Howard's SAVAGE SWORD from Dark Horse Comics.

I might end up turning this into something more finished after I wrap up the first portion of the adaptation. . . .

I managed to take a pictures of a couple of the sketches I did this weekend -- I'll share them later!

Had a blast at the convention and am pleasantly exhausted.

Burning Itch: Miss Ogeny

Had a pretty good Wednesday -- drew caricatures for a few hours to raise money for breast cancer at the college, but Thursday was International Women's Day and I couldn't get the Karzai story out of my head.

Here's a link if you haven't read it yet:

It made me think of all the stupid misogynistic crap going on right now, most notably the  bizarre battle over contraception in the US and Rush Limbaugh's three day tirade against Sandra Fluke -- if you've missed that, you may want to read this

I needed to feel better, so I went to the late, lamented Bill Hicks for solace and came away with this:

Warning -- the above is decidedly NOT work safe.

This weekend I'm a guest at the Toronto Comicon!  If you're around, please feel free to drop by and say 'hi'!

Classic Mythology Odin

Card art for the soon to be released Classic Mythology set from Perna Studios!

Loves me some Norse mythology!

Doctor Strange Commission

Whenever I take on a private commission I always end up spending far more time on them than I expect --usually in the layout stage, strangely.

I've another, more complex piece in charcoal I've been working at since the fall.  sigh . . .
