Batman/Superman Joker Sketch cover

Ken Lashley was surprised I didn't bring blank covers to conventions.  He gave me this Batman/Superman (and two Swamp Thing blanks) at C4 this past weekend and I did the above.  He even thought to grab the above pic before it sold while I completely forgot.

I'll be collecting blanks and bringing 'em to cons going forward.

Joker

Wrapping up (get it?) a few commissions while doing the usual seasonal chores.

The countdown toward the end of the year will probably just have one more Burning Itch, a charcoal drawing and perhaps another, more seasonal piece.

Happy Pagan Gift-Giving everyone!

Joker Sketch from WizardWorld Toronto

I was sent a most excellent scan of the sketch I did this weekend.

It was a little weird to draw an old-school Joker for someone made up EXACTLY as the Heath Ledger Joker!

He's a talented artist as well! Check out his website!

I finagled a few promises to send me scans of my sketches from more than a few people at the con, so hopefully I'll get to post more of them soon.

Back from Chicago

Chicago went reasonably well.
Pretty much hung out doing not much of anything but watch my pal, Ethan, draw his ass off all weekend.
The news early Saturday morning of Mike Turner's passing was harsh; I had met and hung out with the gentleman a few times in the 90s and he impressed me as a big-hearted and friendly person. Another taken too soon.

Off to Chicago

Off to Wizardworld Chicago tomorrow. . . I hope!
United Airlines called earlier this evening and cancelled my morning flight -- no reason given, but the weather looks horrendous, so that might be it.
. . .Aaaand, I like drawing the Joker!

Smile Time

Drew the above while my students were doing the assigned work in the last class of Comic Book Layout and Composition for this semester.
You could say I like drawing The Joker.
You could also say that a Joker project would be a dream gig at DC.
